Who Are Your Neighbors? Focus on Somali Culture
|
Eden Prairie has changed and is blooming with new cultures that can enrich all of our lives. Challenge your attitudes toward cultures other than your own and increase your cultural competency on diversity through self-reflection and courageous conversations with people from your community. Make a difference in your personal life as well as in your business setting.
Share your commitment with your community to a quality education for all students and support your school district’s efforts toward equity in our schools.
Here is your chance to meet your neighbors and learn about other cultures while building connections in your community.
Your presenters, Asad Shane & Khadra Hirsi, are residents of Eden Prairie and active members of the Somali community. Discover information about the Somali culture including religion, customs, ways of life, differences between the cultures in Somalia and Minnesota, reasons why Somalis came to Minnesota, refugee status and more. The evening will also include small group conversations facilitated by representatives of the Somali community. Dinner will be foods representing Somalia and catered by Kaah Restaurant. Cost is $20. Click below on the "Select Item" button to register.
Please register by the end of the day on April 20th.
